By creating an account or using Caring Matches you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree please do not use the platform.
Caring Matches is an online platform that connects families seeking care with independent caregivers in their community. Caring Matches is not a care agency, does not employ caregivers, and does not place caregivers in homes. All care arrangements are made directly between families and caregivers.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Caregivers are independent contractors and are solely responsible for the care services they provide. Caring Matches does not supervise, direct, or control caregivers. Caregivers agree to represent their qualifications, experience, and certifications honestly and accurately on their profiles.
Families are responsible for evaluating caregivers, verifying their suitability, and making their own care decisions. Caring Matches provides tools to assist in this process but does not guarantee the quality, safety, or suitability of any caregiver.
Caring Matches facilitates background checks on caregivers through a third party provider. A verified badge on a caregiver's profile indicates a background check has been completed. Caring Matches does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of background check results and encourages families to conduct their own due diligence.
Caregivers registered on Caring Matches may be classified as mandated reporters under California law. As mandated reporters, caregivers have a legal obligation to report known or reasonably suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of dependent adults or elders to the appropriate authorities, including Adult Protective Services or local law enforcement. Caring Matches supports and affirms the right and responsibility of caregivers to fulfill their mandated reporting obligations at all times. No provision of these Terms of Service shall be construed to limit, discourage, or prevent a caregiver from making a report they are legally or ethically obligated to make. Caregivers who make a good faith report of suspected abuse or neglect shall not face adverse action on the Caring Matches platform as a result of making such a report. Caring Matches is not responsible for investigating reports of abuse or neglect - caregivers should contact the appropriate authorities directly. For more information on mandated reporting obligations in California, caregivers can visit the California Department of Social Services website or contact Adult Protective Services in their county.
All communication between families and caregivers should take place through the Caring Matches messaging system. Caring Matches is not responsible for any agreements, arrangements, or disputes that arise from communications outside of the platform.
